Our Story
Y1 Custom began in 2012, founded by Exeter University students Chris and Tom. Both passionate about sport, entrepreneurship, and fashion, they met while playing for the University’s 1st XI hockey team.
Their shared love of sport and apparel inspired them to create something unique.Starting with bespoke onesies for university sports teams and societies across the UK, the brand quickly took off.

Within the first year, Y1 Custom was outfitting clubs and societies nationwide, and even expanding internationally into USA, NZ and Australia. In their final year of university, Chris and Tom appeared on Dragon's Den, where they received an investment offer of £75k. However, in staying true to their vision, they turned down the offer, choosing to keep Y1 Custom an independent brand.

Over the years, Y1 Custom has continued to grow, expanding its range of bespoke apparel with each passing season. From retro quarter-zips and bucket hats to custom changing robes, our diverse product offerings are always driven by consumer demand.
